Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s)

FCE’s are the “gold standard” in determining a person’s true abilities to complete a specific job. The FCE compares the worker’s physical status and consistency of effort with the physical demands of the job in order to determine his/her actual capacity with each task. This assessment is done in-clinic, using a variety of standardized tools and a detailed report is provided to the referral source. FCE’s can be tailored to provide a baseline assessment of a person’s physical capacity as well as a more thorough, job-specific assessment that addresses and compares the client’s abilities with all tasks of a job.
